The Origins of the Lagunes Group
The Lagunes group is a group of companies belonging to the fifth generation of a family with interests linked to the livestock farming sector. The activity of the group Lagunes has developed in several branches of production that represent the best and most exclusive elements in our traditions and the Spanish gastronomy. For such goal, it own several estates of its property located in strategic zones of the center and south of Spain:
It is Located in the Valley of Alcudia, the place where it has always been traditionally, because of the quality of its pastures, the largest area of winter concentration of cattle in Europe. In the "Lagunes" farm, which also gives the main name to our trade mark, we breed our Iberian deer that are marketed under the name "Lagunes Selección Genética". A large part of the largest deer in our country originated in Lagunes genetics, which has its main market in the Iberian peninsula (Spain and Portugal).
It is located in the Pedroches Valley (Córdoba) and it is the most extensive and best preserved holm oak in Europe, a true natural paradise that was baptized by the Arabs as Fhas al-Ballut: the Valley of the Acorns. In this farm, our Iberian acorn pigs are raised and fattened as well as our meat calves for later commercialization in the most select establishments of our country. Likewise, it is the land where our livestock of Pura Raza Española and Cartujana horses are grazed.
The El Alguacilillo Estate
Our olive grove "The Alguacilillo" is located in the valley of the Guadalquivir river, in Córdoba's countryside. We grow different varieties of olives such as Arbequina, Picual and Hojiblanca. Its climate is hot, with dry summers and cold winters. The soil is excellent, deep, withf Clayey texture, located at an altitude of 300 meters. All these factors combined provide a privileged environment for the cultivation of this tree.
